Six months!

I loved these pictures of her 'reading' :) so cute

My goodness I have a six month old. We went to the Dr. Today and she is just a growing. Ashlynn weighs 14.14 lbs (29%) is 25.5 in (36 %) and has a nice round head (thankfully) but I don't remember the circumference size. She really dislikes being on her tummy and has only rolled from her back to stomach like a couple of times. but I think it's cause she really likes being on her back because when i put her on her tummy...she's on her back in the blink of an eye. She loves oatmeal, and squash and milk :) I didn't think she liked green beans...but we tried them again and she seemed much better. She absolutely loves to pull things out of something...like the diaper bag...or anything that is inside something. She has very good hand eye coordination (for when she plays the piano...:)) and loves to make BIG splashes at bath time and gets everyone soaked. She is such a happy baby and loves to eat her feet. She also likes to save her dirty diapers for when I get home from work :) Oh how I love her and don't know what I did for this long without her
Danny and I are doing well. Right now we are having a difficult time making career decisions for Danny. There are a few options for him now that he is finishing up school and we are having a difficult time what to do next...do we stay comfortable with the situation we have now and him not move up....or do we move forward with the possibility of moving from Utah and family so he can make more. There are so many different variables to our situation that it is making it very hard to make a decision. I sometimes wish there was one good answer and we knew exactly what we should do next and knew it was the right choice for us. Sooo who knows. I'll keep you posted on things to come.

PS along with my post about ashlynn loving to pull things out of things....she just dumped over my bowl of decorative pine cones on our table...and is now eating them...silly girl!

Sick Day...?

So Ashlynn has been doing much better. She doesn't sound near as bad. Her nose is now really runny but I think that's a good thing. Danny didn't have to go to work until today so he was able to stay home with her Monday and Tuesday and she didn't have to go to the babysitter. Well last night April (babysitter) called me and said her three year old and probably her older two girls all have strep and she has put them on an antibiotic but they are still contagious for 24 hours. Well I didn't really want RSV AND strep so I talked to me mom but she is going to a quilting conference, called my sister but she as a little one year old...who probably doesn't want RSV, sooo I get to stay home :) Which really doesn't make me sad at all. I can take a sick day...without being sick! yay to me! oh the simple pleasures in life.

update

She loves to feed herself while I'm at work. She's tries to feed herself too when I feed her...but it doesn't really work...:)

Gotta love those big eyes :)

Ashlynn is almost six months! sadly, she is sick :( She has had a stuffy nose since about the time I went back to work after Christmas break in January. I had a cold and sadly...she got one too. It's kinda hard when you're a school teacher to avoid it. Well Wednesday she started to get a cough that just sounded horrible and she no longer had a stuffy nose, she was then congested in her chest. However she really didn't act like she wasn't feeling well cause she was just as jumpy and smiley as ever (jumping/bouncing is her new favorite thing) so I thought it was just a cold but I wanted to take her to the pediatrician before the weekend just in case it got worse. then i wouldn't have to call the on-call dr. Well I'm glad I did cause sure enough she tested positive for RSV. Not really what I thought was going to happen. I don't think she has a too severe case and that we caught it early but they gave us a nebulizer to use to bring up her blood oxygen level, help with her cough and clean the mucus out of her chest so hopefully it will help.
Other than the RSV she's doing really well and growing really fast. She still sleeps a ton like she did as an infant. She goes to bed about eight and then will get her last feeding at 10. then eats again at 6:30am before I go to work then she just falls back asleep till like 9:30. Can't complain I guess. And she still takes about a 2 1/2 hour nap in the afternoon and about an hour nap around 4:30. She is also starting to sit up by herself and loves to stand up and bounce when you hold her. She has her 6 month checkup on the 15th so we'll get to see how big she's gotten.
Danny and I still don't know where we're going on vacation in two weeks. We are extremely indecisive. We don't want to spend a lot of money but we want it to be nice....so it's causing some difficulty. But we are for sure going to go somewhere!

We had a few days in January when it seriously felt like spring. so we heard about a freestanding arch just like 10 miles out of parowan so we decided to go after it. It was a fun little hour adventure. Nice to get out of the house at least.
Me and Sadie. The arch wasn't very big as you can see, but it was still fun

love you!

Where does the time go?

Such a cute little chunk!!

So things have definitely been flying by. Ashlynn is already 5 1/2 months!! It's just crazy. Right now she loves her baths and can hold her self up if you balance her just right. She is eating rice cereal and I think I'll soon start her on fruits and veggies. She has started holding her weight too while standing. She LOVES to pull her socks off any chance she gets. She is a such a happy baby...but ya wouldn't know it because she won't smile for the camera still. me danny and even my dad have all tried to get a picture when she's giggling or she'll smile at anyone who looks at her but there's just no way i'm ever going to get it on camera. very frustrating.
Danny's doing well. He is very helpful and cleans the house whenever he's home and does the laundry and washes the dishes. He just a Mr. Mom I guess.
Danny and I also got the Insanity DVD's and they kick our butts!! Holy Moly it's hard but I really like it and it's getting me back into shape. I didn't really have that much to lose...but it's nice to finally start getting those last few pounds down to my pre-pregnancy weight.
Work for me is going well. I definitely don't spend as much time or work on prepping like I used to...but i have good reason. I'm really glad I taught though for 4 years before having a kid because with teaching...each year gets a little easier. It's always different for me, but it's definitely easier now than it was in the beginning.
We are also still trying to figure out where to go for our 5 year. We really like Hawaii and haven't been to Kauai or the Big Island, but the flights don't look that good so we'll just have to see when happens.

She is totally a Daddy's girl! And I'm the one always taking the pictures :)

Yummy Rice!!

Always playing with her feetsies

I should have made these pictures bigger....but she kinda has red hair. I think she gets it from b both Danny and me. His beard grows in a little red and in the sunlight my hair will look red. She's growing so fast! I can't even believe it. Some things she is doing right now is she started rice cereal and took it just lovely...she's starting to hold herself up while sitting and is giggling a lot more now. She is also a little wiggle worm and every time I try to change her diaper she just smiles and wiggles like a worm. It makes diaper changing a little difficult. She also loves her baths and has realized what splashing and kicking does. Such a fun girl.
Work is going well for me, but it definitely keeps me busy. I've been trying to get into a better workout regime but it's kinda hard after work to have the energy to come home and workout. especially since all I want to do is play with Ash. But I've been really quite lazy when it comes to my health so I guess along with everyone else my resolution should be to get back into good shape. wish me luck....this could take a while :)

Back to school....

Well sadly the time has come for me to go back to work. It's amazing how fast time goes. I think the hardest thing about going back to work is not being able to spend every minute with ashlynn. I love all the stages they go through and being a part of it. Newborns are fun becuase they are so tiny and sweet, but the older they get and the more interaction they have with you, it's more fun. Ashlynn is sitting up really well now and LOVES to stick her tongue out when she smiles...but i still have yet to get a picture of her smiling...she's so quick to get rid of her smile the moment a camera goes up. Her head is also starting to round out so hopefully things will work out.
Danny is also finishing up school...YAY!! I really never thought this day would come. But he can finally apply for graduation and only has one more class to pass so hopefully it all goes well.
I have a week off in February and our 5 year anniversary (yes, 5 YEARS) is the first part of March so we are trying to plan somewhere to go. any suggestions would be great!
HAPPY NEW YEAR
