Family Pictures

I'm such a slacker when it comes to pictures.  I feel like I take alot of pictures...but not formal family pics.  Well Ashlynn turned two, which I just realized I haven't written about, and I realized it had been about 2 years since we had had family pictures.

So, after we moved I really wanted/needed some formal pictures.  For christmas last year, we got a nice Nikon camera with the justification that we would take our own family pics.  So, after we moved to Heber, we had Danny's uncle come out and take some pictures.  I really wasn't a fan of the time of day we did them, I would have prefered to do it in the evening when the light was better, but this was really the only time he could come out and take them.  There's a few that turned out good and we didn't have to pay for them, so that made it even better.

On a side not...I learned that day that I'm REALLY bad at doing little girls hair.  I think people think that just because I'm a mother I automatically know how to do hair.  I don't.  It's sad and on picture day I had a bit of a come apart because I had NO idea what to do with Ashlynn's hair.  Good thing she's cute to make up for mom not being able to do hair.

I had to add this one so I could share all the funny faces Ashlynn pulled that day.  I'd say that 80% of the pictures were of her sticking her tongue out.  she hardly ever does that and of course she chose not to keep it in for pictures.

That tongue is really showing in almost all the pictures.  Silly girl.  Pictures with toddlers is not easy...

Heber really is such a beautiful city! But after looking at these, I really would like to learn to take better pictures.  At least of Ashlynn. And there are a ton more pictures we took, but because of the sun they just didn't look as good.  But I like the second one.  So I think that's what we'll use.

Water Fun

During the summer, Ashlynn and I did some watercolor painting.  Well, one day she got particularly messy so instead of giving her a bath somehow, I don't really remember how, we decided to go outside and hose her down.  She loved it! And, I think dad loved it too... enjoy :)
Where did the water go??

There it is! Geez dad....

She loved soaking herself

Summer Fun!

So, I figured out how to load picture again...yay!!! Here is a tiny tiny glimpse of our summer.  We went hiking and camping and biking mostly.  Danny got a new bike and we found a good deal on a bike trailor so that was fun entertainment on the days Danny was home.

I did lots of water painting with Ashlynn.  She loved it and would concentrate so hard on what needed to be painted.  She also liked to paint Sadie :)

We are trying to make it a tradition to go to Tropic Res. for Fathers Day.  We have done it two years in a row now! yes...we have a tradition. :) This year, we took our bikes and went riding around the lake and fishing in the stream.  Instead of driving the truck down to the lake we thought we could just fit everything in Ashlynn's trailor.  On this day, we fit 2 fishing poles, 2 fold up chairs, tackle box, lap blanket, lunch and water bottles.  AND there was still room for Ashlynn :) Danny was feeling it when we had to ride back up to our camp site...

Ashlynn LOVES to fish.  If she even sees a fishing pole she grabs it and starts asking over and over if we can go fishing.  And yes, she is dressed like a goober in her overalls, camo and pink hat.  But it's still cute :)

In front of the Res. on our ride that day

 Hanging out at camp!

My dad came up one night and slept under the stars on his cot.  Ashlynn LOVES her grandpa Decker.
Fishing was good at Tropic.  Here was our dinner when we got back.  yummm
 More water painting
Lunch on the porch.  Something I will miss very very much about our old house.  :(

Changes

Soo it has been a while.  I stopped posting at first because I had to change computers at work and had to take all my pictures and back them up, then load them on to a hard drive.  Then...when I got the new computer I never loaded all the pictures on to it so again...no posting.   Then a whole bunch of crazy stuff happened all at once and we moved!! To Heber City Utah.  I'm teaching in Orem, and Danny's a Mr. mom most the time because he's still on reserve and hes home lots now so everything is working out well.
But now that I have another new computer....But I still can't seem to upload pictures onto my blog because my new work computer is a mac.  I am not a mac person.  At all. I think I suddenly became computer dumb because of having a mac.  Everything is different and I can't figure things out.  So now... still no posts, and no uploaded pictures.  Wish me luck! I'll figure it out some time.

Trying to Stay Fit!!!

Since about high school I've really enjoyed the feeling of getting a good work-out in.  Competed all through high school and college.  Then something happened....I got a full-time job then later and child :).  My first few years in college I was naive and couldn't figure out why people couldn't just get out and go for a 30 minute jog...I now understand!! It's hard.  And it's even harder when you don't have teammates or a coach or 3 hours a days designated strictly to improving your body which is what I had.  Before Ashlynn I continued running and did a few 5ks here and there but I wanted (and needed)more than just a run and missed my coaches telling me what to do :( So I entered the DVD workout video world along with running in hopes of getting my nice SUU track body back.  Started with Turbo Jam (its was the craze then) and have loved it. Still do it even today.  It was especially nice after the baby because it's low impact, fun and gets your heart rate up.
However if there's one thing I learned while competing it's that if you do the same thing you the same results.  So then the P90X stuff came out and my dad bought it and I did some of it....but honestly I did not want to work out an hour and a half a day.  Not after being at work all day and getting dinner done, groceries, cleaning (ya not really something I do all the time but sometimes.) I just didn't have time for it.
So then Danny heard about Insanity.  We got it...I did it, IT KILLED ME!!! ahhh I haven't done something like that in forever.  I think I almost threw up the first time.  It gave me a good work-out but all the moves are extremely high impact and my knees/shins/feet were so achy after.

So then for my birthday Danny (being the sweetie he is) got me some new DVDs.  I got the Jillian Michaels ones.  Needless to say she annoys the HECK out of me and I have to not listen to her when I'm working out but for now in my life she has done things for me that I LOVE!!.  Workouts are about 30 mins....perfect....they have cardio, strength and abs mixed....wonderful...I drip sweat while doing it and I love the results I've gotten.  My arms were super flabby after baby and I'm finally starting to see toning come back in my arms, butt, abs and thighs. It has all the elements I've been looking for.
Now, I'm not in perfect shape, and haven't lost much more weight since doing it.  But I did measure myself before I got pregnant with Ashlynn in hopes that would motivate me and give me goal numbers to get back to (I know it sounds crazy but whatever) and I am 4 inches less in total body measurements than I was before I got pregnant.  And that makes me happy :)
